The thing to do is:
1) Delete the Glidos folder and the TOMBRAID folder.
2) Download and install Glidos 1.44
3) Download and install the preconfigured archive of TR for Glidos: http://download.glidos.net/TR1/TrAndUbForGlidos.exe
4) Go to http://unlock.glidos.net to unlock and remove the spinning logo. You wont need to pay again. If you run out of unlocks I can add more.
That's it for XP or Vista. Don't use other installers. Don't use patches.

Re: TR Startup Error PromptI reinstalled both Glidos (1.41 and then 1.44
over it) and TR. When I chose Start Program, a VDos32 box appeared,
indicating "Unimplemented out0336h".
VDos32 works fine with TR. That must be because you have a patched or wrongly configured version. That's why I say use the preconfigured archive.
So I went to Adjust and disabled
VDos32.
Which was the sensible thing to do seeing as VDos32 failed for you, but actually you want VDos32 and it should be fine when you use the preconfigured archive.
The game starts, but with two problems: (1) the spinning Glidos
logo;
You will need to unlock again.
(2) although the music plays, there are no sounds with Laura's actions
(gunfire, etc.).
VDos32 with the preconfigured archive will sort that all out for you.
I tried setting up the sound in TR Setup.exe, but that
did nothing.
Again a sensible reaction, but wont be needed with the procedure above.
Cheers,
Paul.
