Congratulations for your Glidos system. You actually re-borned TR1. A lot better than the original Core/Eidos even when I used to play it with voodoo accelerator cards.
As you may see from above, my system has quite a lot of stuff, nevertheless I was able to play the game with Glidos 1.4.
My test:
Glidos 1.4 at 1280x1024@75Hz desktop at 1280x1024x32bits.
I played the game with 1.07.00 driver from www.3dfx.com for my voodoo 3 3000. I played the game with and without glsetup.
It was run from virtual drive letter "I".
Drive letters from "C" to "F": Raid partitions
Drive letter: "G" zip drive iomega
Drive letter: "H" CD-Writer
Drive letter: "I" VirtualCD (a program that creates a virtual CD that can be used by copying the original CD-Rom to HD.It can be reached at www.virtualcd-online.com.) I had to insert CD-Rom's and Zip disk's in Drive "G" and "H".
Results
1.I played all the first level during 14min58s without almost no problems. 2.I was able to skip intro-movie by pressing the ESC key.
3.I was able to use F5(save game) and F6(load game) keys.
4.I didn't try to switch beetwen the game and the windows desktop, so, unfortunately, I cannot say whether or not It is working. 5.In the end, I exit the game and Glidos 1.4 without any problems.
Problems
By the end of the level (Caves) It started losing some textures everywhere including lara skin and the menu ring. By re-loading the game with F6 key it happened to correct the losing textures, but it keeps happening again, even when I entered the next level.
Information
1.In my experience I have to put the following lines in my Config.sys to play the game in a DOS windows box: a)C:\windows\himem.sys
b)C:\windows\emm386.exe
These lines have nothing to do with Glidos but they are related to Tomb.exe program.
2.The first time the game was released, there was no UB disk (Gold disk). So Core/Eidos released a UB version downloadable for people who had already bought the initial game. To use the downloadable version one has to put the original TR1 CD. If you are in this situation you cannot run UB from Glidos buttom because it asks for the Gold CD and you only have TR1. To play UB one will have to run Glidos and the ".pif" created by it.
Question
While scanning my windows directory I realised that I have a file created by Glidos called OpenGLid.ini (without the "e" letter at the end) but in the OpenGlide Glidos directory I see a OpenGlide.ini (with the "e" letter). Could someone help me explaining the difference between both of them?
Next Tests
I will try the game with my Asus 7700 de Luxe (GeForce 2 GTS).
Thanks
I would like to thank "x6461" for the help he gave me to play the game with Glidos. I would also like to thank Paul to answer my question about the blue screen I was having with my GeForce (As you see I'll return to test it, but by the way, I agree with you that it might be something related to Tomb.exe more than with Glidos).
Thank you all
Malloc.
