About my GlidosKey not removing the logo.
With Paul's help, we figured this out....I think. I figured I'd post a quick followup for future readers and a big thanks to Paul for the quick and courteous help.
Okay, I have 2 PC's connected directly together with a crossover cable (no hub/switch). I have 2 network cards in PC 1 (Glidos is here). 1 NIC goes to my cable modem, the other to PC 2, my LAN.
Whenever I shut down PC 2/disconnected NIC 2 in PC 1, Glidos thought I removed the second NIC and this invalidates the unlock key because my system specs changed. So by simply shutting down a PC on my LAN, I broke Glidos on my main machine. I don't like this method of generating the keys at all for this reason, but......
Solution 1:
Get 2 keys and fart around with entering the right one all the time depending on if the second PC is on or of.
Solution 2:
Put a hub/switch in between the 2 PC's even though I don't want or need it to keep the second NIC in PC 1 active all the time even if I shut down my second PC.
Note:
If you get your Glidos unlock key while you have a 56k modem or no home network then later add a network or say, get a cable modem, your Glidos is now invallid and needs a new key. Paul was very good about helping me out, but I still feel the need to expess my strong disagreement with this method of making unlock keys. Glidos has no business in my home network and I do change my setup, operating system, and hardware very frequently. this is going to be a royal pain when it comes to Glidos.
